Cloud spending is reaching a tipping point...
The growing adoption of cloud services is changing how British businesses consume IT, according to a report by Cisco Consulting Services. Based on 4,000 IT decision makers, the report suggests that the UK is at a tipping point in IT spending as cloud uptake increases.
Spending on cloud services - whether public, private or hybrid - now accounts for almost a quarter of total IT spending (23 per cent), with the figure expected to rise to 27 per cent by 2016. Furthermore, 83 per cent of respondents believe that cloud will positively impact IT planning.
The report notes that the cloud market is evolving rapidly, and companies can choose from many different approaches for sourcing, deploying and operating cloud services.
