17 Nov 17/11/20 – ESEF: UK FCA announces optional delay to implementation timetable
Following the UK’s FCA consultation in August 2020, the regulator has now announced an optional 1 year delay for all companies having securities listed on the regulated part of the London Stock Exchange (LSE). This means that companies now have the choice to either (i) Implement ESEF from January 1st, 2022 (Delay) OR (ii) Go forward under the original ESEF timetable from January 1st 2021. You can read more about the decision on the FCA’s website here: https://www.fca.org.uk/publications/policy-statements/ps20-14-delay-implementation-european-single-electronic-format-esef
Although companies might be tempted to delay the whole ESEF project by one year there are good arguments to continue on with the project. We are running our last ESEF education webinar of 2020 titled ‘Delay the ESEF Project by 1 Year or Not?’ at 10.30am(GMT)/11.30am(CET) on Thursday 26th November, 2020. On this webinar we will go through the arguments for and against delaying, as well as our top 5 tips to prepare for ESEF.
