18 Aug 10/8/20 – UK regulator, FCA, launches a consultation on ESEF implementation

The FCA, the regulator responsible for ESEF in the UK, has started a consultation on whether the implementation of this new EU directive should be postponed by one year ie. Non-AIM Companies listed on the London Stock Exchange would have to file their Annual Financial Reports (AFR) using the ESEF Taxonomy for all periods from January 1^st, 2021.  This would make the implementation of ESEF for the UK market different from the rest of Europe which has to implement for all listed companies for periods from January 1^st, 2020.  Interested parties have until August 28^th, 2020 to submit their comments which can be done by following this link to the FCA website:  https://www.fca.org.uk/publications/consultation-papers/cp20-12-consultation-delay-implementation-european-single-electronic-format
